About our Foundation
Innova Little Heart Foundation has started its philanthropic activities in 2007 and
registered under charitable act in 2009. It is committed to providing surgical correction and support for the God’s precious gifts – tiny tots with heart defects. The foundation is also involved in research towards management for these ailments. It has collaboration with Innova Children’s Heart Hospital for treatment and training programs. The foundation is managed by a board of trustees.
AIM OF THE TRUST
To promote and propagate activities towards improvement of health of children in the rural, urban and semi urban communities. To conduct research on problems affecting the health of children in general and cardiac problems in particular, either congenital or acquired.
The trust undertakes and promotes training activities for medical, nursing and para medical personnel in the field of pediatric cardiac services. It create awareness about prevention, early diagnosis, prompt treatment and rehabilitation of children with congenital heart diseases. We aim to collaborate with institutions, both non government and government for future activities.
The trust receives donations and grants for fulfilling the above objectives and gets technical and financial support to undertake professional education activities in liaison with institutions and universities.

Innova Little Heart Foundation was granted IT exemption by the Director of Income Tax (Exemptions) under section 80G and also applied for FCRA for donations from abroad.

Allied Health Sciences:
The Innova Institute of Allied Health Sciences launched on 30thSeptember, 2009, was inaugurated by Dr. D. Prasada Rao, former Director of Nizam’s institute of medical sciences. The institute offers the following courses which are affiliated to Osmania University.

Fellowship training for overseas Doctors
Fellowship training for overseas Doctors programs in cardiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac anesthesia, cardio pulmonary bypass, intensive care nursing etc. So far we have trained more than 50 fellows from South Asia, Africa, Middle East and USA etc
Educational Programs
RESEARCH
Research Projects:
- Psycho social study on the effect of a Congenital Heart Disease on the family.
- An Epidemiological Study of Congenital Heart Disease admitted in a city Hospital.
- Genetic Variants involved in Folate metabolism and risk of congenital heart defects in Down Syndrome
- Study of Prevalence of Minor, Major and Chronic Diseases among children living in welfare hostels (for BC, SC, ST and de notified tribes and minorities) in the State of Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with Government of Andhra Pradesh.
We plan many more such studies, especially those aimed at basic sciences which deal with causation of congenital heart disease at micro and nano levels. Applications will be made for the relevant research projects announced by DBT, CSIR and ICMR.
FREE MEDICAL CAMPS
So far we have conducted 385 free medical camps for children in Andhra Pradesh, 38 camps in Maharashtra, 4 in Gujarat and 2 West Bengal.
Recently, we have conducted a free pediatric
cardiac camp in association with State Bank of Hyderabad in Beed (Maharashtra) on 18th August 2013. We have screened about 320 children which is by far the highest number of patients seen in a single camp by team Innova of whom 200 children had complex heart conditions which require some sort of surgical treatment.
Twenty four deserving children with complex heart conditions were offered surgical treatment
which was fully sponsored by the SBH bank. These
children were successfully operated by Dr.K.S
Murthy and team at Innova hospital and all of them
have done well and discharged.
Innova children’s heart hospital in partner with SBH
has previously organized similar camps in
Aurangabad, Latur, Sholapur and Nanded. Total of
55 children have been operated free of charge with
this initiative.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Every year we celebrate children’s day in a unique way by conducting various activities for children who underwent surgical corrections for their heart defects. We have conducted organ donation awareness rally by the Children who had human valves transplantation for their congenital birth defects in the heart.
COLLABORATION WITH NGOS AND PHILANTHROPISTS
We have a Memorandum of Understanding with Children’s Heart Link, USA who promote training for the health care professionals and create awareness on children’s heart disease in developing countries. So far we have conducted four International conferences and treated several poor children with their sponsorship. We have an understanding with American Association of Social Advancement in India (AASAI), USA, for overseas contributions from USA. State Bank of Hyderabad is a major sponsor for us. They have given financial assistance for ten bedded general ward and donated an Ambulance. With their sponsorship, we have conducted several medical camps and performed free surgeries for 54 children from the families of lower socio economic background. Innova Little Heart Foundation has an MOU with the Rotary India Humanity Foundation, a wing of the rotary international, for meeting the costs of pediatric heart surgeries from poor strata of society.
FREE / CONCESSIONAL HEART SURGERIES FOR POOR CHILDREN in collaboration with Innova Children’s Heart Hospital
Innova Children’s Heart Hospital is first of its kind in South Asia to provide
dedicated and focused care for children suffering from heart diseases. We perform surgeries for complex congenital heart diseases which include Arterial Switch Operations, Single Stage Unifocalization, repair of complete AVSD defect, Truncus Arteriosus and Single Stage correction of Intra Cardiac anomalies with arch obstruction apart from other routine heart defects. In interventional cardiology, we have performed device closure of heart defects with left to right shunts, stenting of coarctation of Aorta, percutaneous balloon valvotomies for aortic and pulmonary stenosis and PDA stenting in Neonates. The outcome of the surgeries has been comparable to the Best in the World. The youngest child who was operated in our hospital was a one day old new born and the smallest child operated was 800 Gms premature baby. In a span of eight years, we have performed over 8,500 intricate cardiac surgeries and interventions out of which 80% of them belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. We have performed highest number of surgeries under Aarogyasri scheme.
